ASTTU Welcomes New Partner: IBEW Local 728

We're proud to stand with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 728 as a new ASTTU partner, supporting the skilled electrical workers who help power South Florida's growth and infrastructure.

ST. LOUIS and FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 15, 2026 / — The Association of Skilled Trade and Transportation Unions (ASTTU) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 728, representing highly skilled electrical workers throughout Broward County and portions of Palm Beach County.

Chartered on June 12, 1925, IBEW Local 728 has represented electrical workers across South Florida for more than a century. Throughout its history, the Local has advocated for fair wages, safe working conditions, quality craftsmanship, and strong union representation while helping build the infrastructure that has powered the region’s growth.

IBEW Local 728 is committed to developing the next generation of skilled electrical workers through comprehensive apprenticeship and training programs that combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience. The Local also represents Members across several electrical trade classifications, including inside wiremen, electrical manufacturing, radio-television service, and sound and public address, ensuring a highly trained workforce prepared to meet the evolving needs of the electrical industry.

Through this partnership, Members of IBEW Local 728 will have access to ASTTU Membership and a range of programs, resources, and benefits designed to support union Members and their families.
