ASTTU Welcomes New Partner: Boilermakers Local 105
ST. LOUIS and PIKETON, Ohio, August 27, 2026 / — The Association of Skilled Trade and Transportation Unions (ASTTU) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Boilermakers Local 105, a union with more than a century of history representing skilled tradespeople. Chartered on October 15, 1892, in Cincinnati as the Queen City Lodge, Local 105 later moved to Chillicothe before establishing its current home in Piketon in 1993. Today, the Local has jurisdiction across 35 counties in Southern Ohio.
Local 105 Members are highly skilled craftspeople who build, install, maintain, and repair boilers, tanks, pressure vessels, and other critical industrial structures. Their work requires expertise in welding, rigging, fabrication, blueprint interpretation, equipment installation, and other specialized skills. Boilermakers can be found working in power plants, refineries, chemical plants, steel and paper mills, railroads, and other industrial facilities where safety, precision, and craftsmanship are essential.
As part of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, which represents more than 50,000 skilled craftspeople and industrial workers, Local 105 carries forward a proud tradition of preparing, promoting, protecting, and defending its Members. The union is committed to helping its Members build rewarding careers while providing contractors and employers with skilled professionals who are prepared to complete demanding projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
