ASTTU Welcomes New Partner: OPCMIA Local 797
ST. LOUIS and LAS VEGAS, NV, January 15, 2026 / — Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ Local 797 represents more than 1,200 skilled plasterers and cement masons working throughout the state of Nevada. With its main office in Las Vegas and a northern office in Reno, Local 797 covers the entire state and has been chartered in Northern Nevada since 1905 and Southern Nevada since 1935.
Members of Local 797 can be found on some of Nevada’s most recognizable and essential projects. From highways, bridges, and public infrastructure to the iconic hotel and casino towers along the Las Vegas Strip, Local 797 craftspeople play a critical role in shaping the built environment Nevadans rely on every day. Their work can be seen in the walkways, buildings, and structures that support the state’s continued growth.
As part of the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association (OPCMIA), which has represented skilled tradespeople for more than 160 years, Local 797 carries forward a proud tradition rooted in craftsmanship, quality, and union solidarity. That legacy includes a longstanding commitment to training, maintaining high standards on the job, and protecting the livelihoods of working families across the construction industry.
